How tall is Ben Affleck – Movie Star
You would think that a man as wealthy as Ben Affleck would be able to afford the finest acting instruction money can buy, but based on a number of his all too forgettable performances it seems that Mr. Affleck has chosen to spend more of his money on hair care products and less learning the craft of acting. By no means is Ben Affleck the only celebrity in need of acting lessons, but his acting ability (or lack of it) has unfortunately ruined a number of otherwise good films.
Let us not forget, for instance, that it was a wooden performance by Ben Affleck that transformed the historical film Pearl Harbor into an entirely different kind of disaster film. The other actors in this otherwise fine film tried their best, but when a star performer is not up to the challenge the task becomes quite difficult.
Speaking of disasters, both cinematic and otherwise, Mr. Affleck also turned in a sub-par performance in the asteroid flick Armageddon. While the writers of this sci-fi film were concerned with saving the Earth from the killer asteroid, many innocent filmgoers were no doubt hoping that an asteroid would hit the theatre and save them from another minute of bad acting.
Ben Affleck even managed to make the idea of nuclear annihilation at the hands of terrorists boring and pedestrian. Just witness his phoned in performance in the film version of Tom Clancy’s excellent book The Sum of All Fears. While the book was engaging and terrifying, the film was dull and unimaginative. Casting Ben Affleck in such an important role left many fans of the source material disappointed.
And of course who could forget the unmitigated disaster of Gigli, arguably one of the worst films of all time? For this disaster of a film the casting of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez somehow seemed just right, as the writing and dialogue was equal to the awfulness of the performances. This incredibly bad film seemed destined to star one of the worst actors of our time.
Of course there is always a chance that this underwhelming actor will indeed choose to invest a portion of his considerable earnings into some acting lessons. A little bit of coaching can go a long way, so lets hope that in the future Ben Affleck will choose to take the business of acting more seriously. Who knows, one of these days fans could be celebrating as Mr. Affleck accepts his well deserved Academy Award. Until then there is nothing like a rerun of Gigli for some great comic relief.
