Why did I do that I would not buy an Apple iPad?
If you’ve been near an Apple store you know from the long lines that Apple’s latest device, the iPad, has been released. Long lines at the Apple store are nothing new, but what is new is that reviews of the Apple iPad have been a bit mixed. The iPad certainly has its strong points, but there are also some weaknesses which make the iPad less appealing. Here are five good reasons to keep your money out of the Apple store and in your wallet.
No Multitasking
The iPad uses the iPhone operating system. While this means that the interface is familiar, it also means that the basic limitations of the iPhone operating system remain, including the inability to multitask. With its ten inch screen the iPad certainly has the real estate to display multiple applications, but the feature simply isn’t supported. Want to move away an App to check email for a second? Sorry, you can’t.
No Flash Video
Flash is an incredibly popular multimedia pla
tform which allows websites to place video and other content on their website. While you may not realize it, you probably use Flash every day. Youtube is based entirely off Flash video, as is Hulu and many other online video websites. But the iPad doesn’t support Flash, so whenever you try to view this content on the web you´ll simply see an empty box. The inability to view a large amount of content on the web is a major flaw in the iPad´s web browsing experience.
